Bettina Sommer
 
Bettina (Violin) born in Stuttgart, began her music study at the Stuttgart College of Music with Professor Mueller-Nishio.
 
She continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur of Paris, with Professor Gérard Jarry. There, Bettina finished her studies and continued to develop her artistic expertise while receiving awards in both violin and chamber music.
 
Bettina Sommer took part in master courses with Thomas Brandis, S. Collot, D. Giorghiu, M. Tournus and E. Sarbu. Apart from active concert activity in different chamber music ensembles, Bettina also performs as solo violinist with “arcademia sinfonica”.

 Frédéric Sommer 

Frederic (Piano) received piano training in Paris with Professor Dominique Merlet. In Stuttgart, he continued his studies in both piano and accompaniment with Professor Konrad Richter.
 
Frédéric completed his training by taking the Soloist exam, after a six-year study equivalent to a masters program. Numerous solo performances, as well as solo appearances with different orchestras followed. In addition, Frédéric Sommer received awards in several international competitions.
 
He is active as an accompanist at the Stuttgart College of Music, and teaches accompaniment at the College of Music of Trossingen.
Duo Sommer

Bettina and Frédéric  have performed for several years together, both in Germany and abroad. Their repertoire extends from Bach to Messiaen.

The Sommers desire to expose their audiences to a wide variety of pieces to include selections that may not be well known.

In May 2000 (Villa Berg) and in May 2001 (Schwetzinger Festival), they performed live on SWR 2 radio. In November 2000 and in June 2002, Bettina and Frédéric recorded on CD works by Mikis Theodorakis and Sylvio Lazzari at the studios of SWR.
